One-stop website offers free support for small business owners

Small businesses in Southern Queensland can get support at the click of a button through a new one-stop shop website offering free financial counselling and wellness coaching.

The new Small Business Financial Counselling Service (SBFCS) Southern Queensland website makes it easy for small business owners to access assistance if they’re experiencing money problems or mental healthcare and emotional well-being stress.

SBFCS Southern Queensland Chief Executive Officer Ross Leggett said many small business owners in Southern Queensland have been doing it tough over the last few years and it’s important they can easily access the support needed to get back on track and achieve their business goals.

“The new website offers easy to understand information about our free financial counselling and wellness coaching, together with allowing business owners to request an appointment with their local Small Business Financial Counsellor or Business Wellness Coach.”

“We know small business owners are busy during working hours, so we’ve made it simple to request an appointment on our website at a time that’s convenient for businesses,” Leggett said.

Our Small Business Financial Counsellors can help businesses get their finances back under control, including assisting with business goal setting, action plans, improving cash flow, commercial lease negotiations, creditors, dispute resolution services and accessing financial support.

“As a business owner’s mental health is inherently linked with the state of their business, our Business Wellness Coaches can support business owners with personal emotional counselling and wellbeing support customised to their individual needs,” Leggett said.

Small business owners have the choice of working with our Financial Counsellors and Business Wellness Coaches together as part of a holistic service or separately depending on their situation.

“As we wanted a website that represents local small businesses, all photography on our new website features small business owners and staff from Southern Queensland,” Leggett said.

“We commissioned an independent local photographer to take photos of a range of small businesses throughout Southern Queensland and we’re thrilled with the results.”
