Australia’s residential aged care industry consists of an estimate of 902 companies that provide 200,689 residential places. Many aged care services are government subsidised to assist keep costs manageable and affordable.

Today on the Healthcare Channel, we list the biggest aged care providers in Australia.

How many aged care providers are there in Australia?

As of 2020, there are more than 3,000 aged care providers in Australia deliver care through nearly 9,000 services (outlets) (Figure 2). The sector comprises private (for-profit) providers alongside community-based and charitable providers, and state and territory and local government providers.
