Newly-refurbished aged care facility opens in Beaufort

The Andrews Labor Government is delivering more high-quality public sector aged care services for older Victorians, with the official opening of a $975,000 refurbishment and upgrade of the Beaufort Nursing Home.
Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers Colin Brooks today toured the refurbished facility at the Beaufort and Skipton Health Service which delivered bedroom, bathroom, and amenity upgrades.
The refurbished Beaufort Nursing Home now consists of 12 resident rooms, catering for 15 residents. The refurbishment has tripled the number of single resident rooms with private ensuite bathrooms to nine.
The upgrade also refurbished the facility’s common areas, kitchen and activity spaces where residents participate in an active lifestyle program and socialise with their friends, family and the local community.
Delivered by the Beaufort and Skipton Health Service in partnership with the Victorian Health Building Authority, the redevelopment was funded through the Labor Government’s Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF).
The RHIF – now worth $790 million – provides government funding to rural and regional health services and agencies across Victoria so these services can continue to provide safe and efficient care to local communities.
Since establishing the RHIF in 2015, the Labor Government has funded more than 480 projects for regional health services – the largest investment ever dedicated to our rural and regional health services.
The $975,000 refurbishment is on top of $416,345 in funding from the RHIF delivering new beds and shower beds, additional bedroom and bathroom upgrades and a purpose-designed shortage building for logistics and procurement at the Beaufort and Skipton Health Service.
