About the role

This position will see you provide safe, effective surgical care to the patients of the Hunter New England Health under the supervision of specialist staff whilst undertaking learning and professional development activities.

About you:

Our successful candidate will have post fellowship experience in General Surgery, Orthopaedics or Traumatology with the ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environments utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.

You will be a team player with effective teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary clinical care team. You will have evidence of continued professional development and research with a commitment to self-education and teaching undergraduate and post-graduates with experience in trauma teaching. You will also be ATLS/EMST trained, instructor status is highly regarded.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Medical degree registrable in New South Wales.
  • Must possess Fellowship of Royal Australian College of Surgeons or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award or Health Insurance Act (1973).
  • ANZAST accredited clinical trauma fellowship program.

All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021, and two doses by 30 November 2021, or have an approved medical contraindication certificate.

You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
