Where you’ll be working

The Port Macquarie Base Hospital is a 228-bed, level-five facility with a 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services. Services include intensive care, cardiology, geriatric, rheumatology, stroke, respiratory, oncology, renal dialysis, general medicine, orthopaedic, urology, vascular, general surgery, mental health, paediatrics and obstetrics.

Additional services include physiotherapy, dietetics, social work, occupational therapy, Aboriginal health, Acute Pain Service and an onsite pharmacy. Diagnostic services include pathology, CT scans, nuclear medicine, MRI, ultrasound and general x-ray.

 

About the role

Provide an efficient and effective delivery of cleaning services in all areas of the hospital/facility to provide a clean environment and to minimise health care associated infections.

 

Role requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality cleaning services with previous experience in a healthcare facility or commercial/industrial cleaning role
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with all levels of staff, as well as patients/clients and members of the public
  • Demonstrated ability & capacity to work independently and as part of a team with a commitment to customer service
  • Knowledge of work health and safety principles, including safe manual handling and infection control
  • Ability to take the initiative & respond to changes in cleaning requirements, with ability to prioritise tasks and problem-solve
  • Participation in a 7-day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays, including morning, day, afternoon and night shifts
