SCHN’s Genetic Metabolic Disorders Service is looking for Administrative Support (Part Time).

  • Remuneration: 60982.66 – 62989.97 (full time equivalent)
  • Hours Per Week: 27

What you’ll be doing

The SCHN Genetic Metabolic Diseases Service (GMDS) provides clinical services for the diagnosis and management of patients with genetic metabolic disorders. The NSW Biochemical Genetics (BG) Laboratory is a Statewide laboratory service for the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with inherited metabolic disease. Both services form part of the Western Sydney Genetics Program.

 

The incumbent will work to provide administrative support to the Staff Specialists of the GMDS and administrative support to the BG Laboratory.

 

The position requires a high level of organisation and communication skills to perform a wide range of administrative tasks and interaction with a diverse range of people.

  • Accurate typing of 60wpm, Dictaphone ability and demonstrated accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle a diverse range of medical, para-medical and public enquiries.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Experience is using computer databases and MS Office applications suite.
  • Ability to show initiative, maintain motivation and work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an organised manner, to prioritise numerous and competing tasks.
  • Experience with PathNet Millenium computer system and Hospital management systems including, but not limited to, HealthRoster, recruitment software and finance management is desirable.
  • Previous experience with medical terminology is desirable.

A COVID-19 Vaccine Medical Contraindication form must be completed by a GP or Medical Practitioner. An exemption to the Public Health Order requirements will only be considered if you are unable, due to a medical contraindication, to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
