About the Role

The COVID Contact Tracer will assist in the assessment, management and follow up of staff and patients exposed to COVID19 including health care associated infections, community and interstate exposures. You will also be responsible for additional COVID activities as required.

  • Conduct case interviews and record details into the relevant database
  • Provide cases with isolation advice and refer them to other support services if required
  • Provide public health information and direction to reduce the risk of community spread
  • Identify close contacts and provide them with the necessary advice and supports

Classifications for this position will range from classification range Registered Nurse Grade 3A YT11 ($93,730 per annum) to HSUA 5 Grade 1 HS1 ($58,442.80 per annum).

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Clinical background/experience in nursing, allied health or public health
  • Highly developed communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Previous contact tracing experience, ideally during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and maintaining confidentiality
  • The ability to work without supervision and effectively in a team setting
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain/ Worker Screening

About the Contact Tracing Team

The COVID Contact Tracer has responsibility across all campuses of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. You will be primarily located at the Fitzroy campus or working from home. The Contact Tracing team is an important part of the Infection Prevention and Control Team.
