About Department

The Medical Imaging Department provides a comprehensive radiology service for inpatients and outpatients of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. The department is fully computerised with a Patient Information System RIS and Picture Archival Communications System (PACS).

 

About the Role

The successful applicant will provide a full range of administrative support to the Medical Imaging department as required in accordance with the policies, procedures and values of St Vincent’s Health. This is including but not limited to reception, patient accounts, result distribution, receipting and audio typing in a fast-paced, busy environment.

 

Classifications for this position will be a HS1 ($58442.80 base salary per annum).

 

Duties

  • Reception duties as well as answering and directing telephone enquiries
  • Accurate patient data entry
  • Efficient patient scheduling/allocation of appointments
  • Registration of patient arrival for his/her examination
  • Accurate and timely medical audio typing of dictated reports

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Professional telephone manner and empathy/awareness of patient care
  • Excellent communication and demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Prior experience with medical audio typing, invoicing and receipting would be highly regarded as well as previous experience in a medical office
