About the Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre at Monash Health

Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities

The Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre is staffed by consultant sleep and respiratory paediatricians, sleep scientists and nurses experienced in the diagnosis and management of all paediatric sleep disorders. We provide an inpatient sleep study service performing nearly 1,000 sleep studies on patients each year, an outpatient home oximetry service, a non-invasive ventilation service and an apnoea monitoring service.

We are now excited to offer a variety of shifts in both permanent and temporary roles (details below), which would suit either an experienced Paediatric Sleep Nurse OR an experienced Paediatric Sleep Scientist. The positions are all located at our facility in the Monash Children’s Hospital at Clayton.

Overnight shifts are from 10.30pm–7.30am (9 hrs), and duties involve the continuous overnight monitoring of paediatric patients undergoing overnight sleep studies, as well as removal and cleaning of all sensors after the study in the morning.

Evening shifts are from 6.15pm-10.45pm, and duties involve the application of sensors and commencement of recording for the monitoring of paediatric patients undergoing overnight sleep studies.

The set-up shift is for a Friday evening (week 1), with overnight shifts available on Mondays (weeks 1 & 2), Thursday (week 2) and Friday (week 2).

The opportunities we now have available are:
