Details of Appointment

  • Multiple permanent, full or part time, shift-worker (fully rotational) positions, commencing as soon as possible.
  • Fixed-term, casual, shift-worker (fully rotational) positions, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 2 years.
  • Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
  • Salary: $54,135 – $56,478 per annum, pro rata + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019.

Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

 

The Area:

John L. Grove Centre is a ward of the Launceston General Hospital with 20 inpatient beds delivering Sub-Acute and slow-to-recover rehabilitation care. The successful applicants will enjoy a rewarding career working with a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Doctors and a range of allied health professionals.

The hospital assistant’s role in this unit has proven to be fulfilling particularly for those who like the variety of tasks with a close contact to patients at the same time. A range of training and support can be provided to upskill the successful applicants to meet the needs of role, and to support them with career progression within the hospital.

 

Eligibility

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Certificate Level III in Individual Support

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  • Conviction checks in the following areas:
    • Crimes of violence
    • Sex-related offences
    • Serious drug offences
    • Crimes involving dishonesty
  • Identification check
  • Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
