We are currently looking for a Group ACFI Coordinator, able to coordinate, audit and assist each service, in collaboration with the ACFI officers, to maximise ACFI funding within the Palm Lake Group of Aged Care Residential Communities.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will deliver a disciplined approach to the implementation of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) to achieve Palm Lake Care financial KPIs by appropriately balancing care needs and resident choice.

Your role

As the Group ACFI Coordinator, you will responsible for overseeing, monitoring and assisting the ACFI Officers to complete the assessments and appraisals (including re-appraisals) and submit these to Medicare. In collaboration with the Quality Manager, you will deliver training and education to the ACFI Officers and in turn, each of the Palm Lake Care Communities. Based primarily at Bethania, you will be required to travel to each of our communities on both planned and unplanned visits. You will facilitate and organise the team of ACFI Officers to mobilise at each community to identify uplifts and maximise funding opportunities.

You will be responsible for reviewing all packs prior to submission, in addition to the regular evaluation of the claims and assessment process.

You will assist our Care Placements Team by providing ACFI projections for potential residents.

A few obvious things

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Aged Care
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a ACFI officer or equivalent
  • Bachelor of Nursing qualification with current AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ACFI, including assessments, claims submissions and working within policies and guidelines
  • Proven knowledge of current trends in nursing and current clinical expertise in health and aged care
  • Understanding of new Aged Care Quality Standards and the relationship with ACFI.
  • Demonstrated previous experience with funding business rules and assessment procedures, including ACFI validations.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, particularly in the development and maintenance of relationships with older people, general practitioners, and other healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of Autumn Care would be highly regarded
