Position Summary
  • Clinical Midwife Educator x 2 ongoing permanent positions 0.74-1.0EFT available
  • Unique opportunity for a motivated, progressive midwife to undertake a permanent Clinical Midwife Educator (CME) position
  • Experience an Educator role, supporting Nursing and Midwifery staff across Monash Women’s predominately at Clayton or Dandenong Hospital in an ongoing position
  • Flexibility to work across all sites of the organisation to meet the workforce and organisational needs.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for you to join our amazing dedicated education team (NaMES) within Monash Health in a Clinical Midwife Educator position. We require a highly skilled clinician with a passion for education and midwifery, who will be responsible for both the provision of clinical support and education to midwifery (and nursing) staff predominantly at Dandenong and Clayton and across the sites of Monash Health.

This role includes providing:

  • Supporting contemporary education that promotes best practice standards.
  • Clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert
  • Demonstrating and promoting expertise and best practice standards
  • Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce our patients receive safe and high-quality care within Monash Health
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrate agility and work as a change agent

You Are Also

You are a highly skilled midwife with a passion for education. You have well-developed engagement, communication and collaboration skills. You have recent experience in all areas of maternity and you are experienced in supporting learners and in particular, you can demonstrate:

  • Commitment to quality clinical care and sound clinical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently when required
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise within the full scope of midwifery practice
  • Committed to a leadership & mentoring role
  • Dedicated to safe best practice & quality care
  • Committed to delivering patient centred care & a patient advocacy
  • Enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively
  • Excited to be accountable for and manage specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence
  • Completion of or working towards post graduate qualification in midwifery and/or education;
  • Completion of or working towards Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is also highly regarded

  • Demonstrated experience (aligned to position description noting no reference to years of experience)
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Australian working rights
