Formula Room – John Hunter Children’s Hospital

John Hunter Children’s Hospital provides a variety of services including complex medical, surgical, major trauma and neonatal care services for Northern NSW. Being one of three children’s hospitals in the state, they will see nearly 25,000 children and young people present to the emergency department, have 9,000 admitted to hospital and perform over 100,000 occasions of service through outpatient clinics. They are seeking a proactive and hardworking Allied Health Assistant to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis!

About the role:
The Formula Room Allied Health Assistants provide a 7 day a week service, on a rotating roster. They take formula/ EBM/ PDHM orders, prepare specialised formula/ ABM/ DPHM using HACCP principles, label and distribute formula and feeding equipment to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital and John Hunter Hospital. You will work under the direction of Allied Health professionals and act in accordance with the Allied Health Assistant guidelines. In-house training will be provided at the commencement of the position.

About the role:
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who possesses great communication, organisational and computer skills. You will be someone who can work well in a team, and has some mathematical ability at calculating formula recipes. Qualifications and experience in the health and/or food service sector is recommended.

The successful candidate will be appointed at a level (1-3) commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job share arrangements will be considered.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary full/part time and casual vacancies.

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.
If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
