About the role

This position is responsible for the clerical day of service activities in The Breast and Cancer Centre at Maroondah Hospital. Clerical staffs provide customer service, clerical and reception related duties that strive to achieve optimal patient outcomes, adheres to the code of conduct, policies and procedures, values and goals of Eastern Health.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Year 10 English, written and spoken
  • Computer competent; with excellent working knowledge of Patient Management Systems, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Advanced telephone and clerical skills
  • Ability to provide quality customer service in a friendly and professional manner
  • Demonstrates a high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates organisation and time management skills
  • To have an interest in working in a patient-centred environment
  • Demonstrates ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work in a structured environment and carry out set duties
  • Ability to take direction
  • Ability to be responsible for managing own workloads and tasks in a timely manner
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work Friday shifts and be flexible with rostering depending on clinic requirements

Desirable:

  • Health care agency experience
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Previous experience in similar position
  • Previous Experience with Dictation Typing
  • Team Leader Experience
